Is Wolstan regulated?

Wolstan Investments & Pensions Limited appears on the Central Bank of Ireland registers under reference number C41354. The registers record Wolstan as an authorised Investment Business Firm and as an Investment Product Intermediary and Insurance Intermediary. The specific services we can provide depend on our permissions, appointments and applicable law.

How long has Wolstan been established?

Wolstan Investments & Pensions Limited was incorporated in Ireland on 7 November 2005. Irish company number: 410462.

How do you select products and providers?

We consider suitable products available within the scope of our regulatory permissions and our appointments with product providers. Before advice is provided, our Terms of Business will explain the basis of our service, the range of providers considered and any relevant limitations.

Does Wolstan hold client money?

No. The Central Bank register records “Client Money Rules: No” for Wolstan’s Investment Business Firm entry. Any payment arrangements will be set out in the formal documentation for the relevant product provider or financial institution. Always verify payment instructions using an established contact method before transferring funds.

What is the difference between a fixed-term deposit and a fixed-rate bond?

A fixed-term deposit places money with a deposit-taking institution for an agreed period and interest rate. A fixed-rate bond is an investment designed to pay a stated rate for an agreed period. Any protection or guarantee attached to a particular product depends on its terms and the provider or issuer, and will be explained clearly before you proceed.

Are returns guaranteed?

A fixed rate is set for the agreed term, subject to the product’s conditions. The return of capital and any protection depend on the specific product and the financial strength of the provider or issuer. We explain the relevant terms clearly before a client proceeds.

Are fixed-term deposits protected?

Eligible deposits may be covered by a statutory deposit guarantee scheme. The scheme and limit depend on the institution’s banking licence, the country responsible for protection, the product and the depositor’s eligibility. In Ireland, eligible deposits with participating institutions are generally protected up to EUR 100,000 per person, per institution.

Can I access my money early?

It depends on the product. Fixed-term deposits and some investments may not permit early access. Others may allow it only in limited circumstances, potentially with a charge or loss of interest. You should keep sufficient accessible funds outside any fixed-term commitment.

What minimum amount do I need?

Minimum amounts vary by product, provider, currency and client type. We will confirm the current minimum before asking you to consider a particular option.

How does Wolstan charge?

The cost and method of remuneration depend on the service and product. Before you proceed, we will explain in writing any adviser fee, provider commission or other charge that applies. Our current fee and commission information is available on request and will be provided as part of the relevant pre-contract documentation.

Can you advise clients outside Ireland?

We welcome international enquiries, but services are not automatically available in every country. We must first consider residence, citizenship, local rules, provider criteria and the scope of our permissions. We will confirm whether we can assist before an engagement begins.

I am retired and living overseas. Can I still make an enquiry?

Yes. We welcome enquiries from retirees living across Europe and internationally. Tell us your country of residence, the type of savings, investment or pension you hold and what you want to achieve. We will review the position and confirm whether we can assist under the rules that apply.

Do you provide tax or legal advice?

Not unless this is expressly agreed and provided by an appropriately qualified professional. Tax and legal treatment depends on personal circumstances and jurisdiction. We may recommend that you obtain specialist advice.

What do I need for an initial consultation?

It is helpful to know your main objective, the approximate amount involved, your preferred timeframe, your country of residence and whether you need access to the money. For a pension review, recent policy statements are also useful.

How do I begin?

Complete the secure Become a Client form to register, or contact us if you would prefer an initial conversation. We will review your registration, complete the required checks and explain the appropriate next step.
